Al Woods and the Woodsmen's 2nd show feels like we need a three peat!

Al Wood and the Woodsmen graced the stage in the old schoolhouse for the 2nd time and delivered another energized show.  They played to solid sets of original and covers and had the crowd playing right along.  Perhaps a highlight of the evening (okay, Folsom Prison will always be a highlight) was 'Right on Queue' that promises to be on the forthcoming new album.

The band ('namically' Al, Cliff, Frank and Lindsay) and music is really entertaining.  The music is tight and exposes some incredible talent, they aren't playing fluff.  Lindsay explored styles throughout the evening; blues, country, swing and his sore throat wasn't a problem (for the crowd anyway).  Frank's bass lines were spot on and his solo's were eagerly awaited.  Cliff kept the band on time and delivered a couple of innovative solos with judicious use of his left hand to slap drums and pluck snare hardware from underneath.  Al's unique vocals were a treat again, as were his harmonica solos, he cuts quite a profile on stage; his mannerisms are more confident then last time, he seemed very at home.

To sum, we need to have them back again. Hopefully there will be a new CD to celebrate.  Fun fun show.
