Alex Cuba is That Cool.

Immediately after a Sunday evening Munkeyjunk show, Alex Cuba stepped into the schoolhouse to do a sound check. On arrival, one thing was clear; he oozes cool. As we waited for a crack in the visage, some evidence of something else behind his persona something became clear. He is that cool.

The show had an incredibly intimate feel. Alex graciously and smoothly answered questions, prodded us to sing along and gave us a lesson in Cuban pick up lines. The band was tight and was clearly having fun; but it was Alex that gave the evening it's aura.

Alex's voice is entrancing, his charisma undeniable and his guitar playing was edgy and far more skilled then I imagined. He had the house singing several times, with no hesitation. David and Max were real solid and played the part perfectly interacting with Alex and the music and even on a tight stage we were treated to a Cuban pirouette by each.

Apart from the shows, It was a pleasure to have hosted Alex, David and Max; great guys. They were incredibly polite and enjoyed some time in the Madawaska River Valley chiilin' and rehearsing at the house for their Juno appearances.
