Lily Frost and her Billie Holliday Set Are a Real Treat

It was an absolutely beautiful evening, the kind that leaves you gushing in a 'gosh' and 'shucks' kind of way.
Lily's voice and performance were something to behold. The music was a perfect fit in the old schoolhouse. It was so mesmerizing that even during the softest high notes of Willow Weep for Me, you could here perfectly well, as the crowd was totally entranced. On the upbeat numbers, the stage looked like a really fun place to be, and was a visual and audio step back in time.

Mitch and Patrick accompanied Lily with Mitch playing acoustic and electric guitars and pedal steel, and Patrick on acoustic guitar (a beauty actually), acting as beat keeper and maybe even bass. The solo's of the two man version of the Debonairs (Deb and Air, they suggested) were highlights in their own right.
All of Me happens to be one of my favourite songs and Lily's version is perhaps my favourite of those (paradoxically Louis Armstrong being my other fave). The live version was all I could have expected and earned a well deserved standing ovation.
Lily has a new CD coming out soon and indicated that she may want to return with her husband to play again. We really can't wait.
