The Ladies of the Canyon; Harmonies, Voices and Attitude.
The show the Ladies of the Canyon put on Wednesday night vindicated those that came out for a mid-week January show in the valley. Maia, Senja, Jasmine and Anna were absolutely stunning in every possible way; gorgeous voices, gorgeous harmonies, gorgeous. The music was tight and the vocals simply stunning. Anna's bass was a real treat. The ladies warmed to the crowd and the banter was fun.
For a high-lite you had a choice. There were great stories and lines; 'This is a happy song, it's about love lost but in a major key' was my absolute favourite. There were the vocals as Maia, Senja and Jasmine traded songs throughout. Maia had a real troubadour feel to her pressence, really into making music, Senja is deliciously rebellious and her vocals were powerful, Jasmine serenaded us with with an elegance that is hard to describe. There was the cool elegant stand-up bass played with flourish by Anna. Finally, there were a few covers; the Stones''Dead Fowers' and a Lucinda WIlliams cover. But the cover of Linda Ronstadt's cover of Little Feat's Willin' was out of this world good and I would have them back just to hear that again.
Cheers Ladies, come back,
Adam
