The Entertainment Evening Model Explained.
On entertainment evenings we put alot of effort into supporting the artist, this extends to pricing. Here's how it works;
We come to an agreement with the artist as to what we can charge for a ticket that will fill the place. This is a complicated procedure that involves a number of variables; drawing power, number of musicians, day of the week, density of shows, and other expenses. We offer a guarantee or some portion of the fee as a guarantee to insulate the artist from poor attendance.
To date, the ticket price has allocated thusly (this is highly dependent on attendance, so each show's allocation is different);

Additionally, all of the CD sales go to the artist. The 10% Neat portion is enough to keep evolving the stage space. We earn our profits for the evenings through sales of food and drink. For this reason we open doors at 6pm!
This approach has a number of pitfalls.
Unused reservations in a sold out show cost us and the artist money; we are going to begin assigning ticket numbers and requesting that payment be made up front or 'promised' on the night.
Reserving of schoolhouse seats for the show and then leaving to eat elsewhere erodes our profits dramatically. Reserving show seats will be linked to when you arrive and that you stay. We're rethinking food and dining seats to make dining more appealing.
